MAU Launches Redesign

Posted under Design, Our Work on January 27th, 2010 by Phil Rundle

MAU, a staffing agency located in Augusta, GA, wanted an extensive update to their website. Being a valued client for many years, Powerserve was thrilled to help MAU accomplish this task. They wanted both an aesthetic redesign based on their current print materials, as well as an overhaul of navigation and overall user functionality.

MAU - Before and After

The first major change was the site’s navigation. MAU requested that the homepage act as a portal, directing users to the correct section of the website based on their needs. Thus, someone looking for a job will click on the “Applicants” button and be presented with information directly pertaining to their job search, someone looking to hire will click on “Employers” and be presented with relevant information, and so on. These streamlined navigation options allow MAU to present visitors with information in the quickest way possible, while enabling the visitor to quickly navigate to relevant information.

The second key item was the site’s content. MAU updated the site with many new features, including information about MAU, the history of MAU, and rotating client testimonials in the client section. Other additions include videos on both the history and reference sections of the site, as well as case studies that further illustrate the advantages of MAU’s services.

Powerserve looks forward to working with MAU on further projects, including a new quiz system and improvements to job search functionality.

MAU has partnered with Powerserve for several years now, and this is the second website design they’ve developed for us. We’ve continued to use Powerserve as a trusted partner because we know they care about and understand our business. As a result, they function as an extension of our company instead of just some guys who “design at your direction.” Powerserve brings all kinds of ideas to the table, and they even take our ideas and make them better! Rather than tell us what we should want, they find a balance between delivering on our requirements and guiding us toward the best result for success based on their experience. It’s a true collaborative partnership! Now our new website supports and reflects MAU’s business goals with its smart and fresh design, specifically engineered to serve each of our distinctive target audiences.Brett Yardley, Marketing & Communications, MAU

Fuller, Frost & Associates Launch Redesign

Posted under Content Management, Design, Our Work on January 11th, 2010 by Patrick Rodgers

Fuller, Frost & Associates, a law firm located in Augusta, GA, came to us wanting a site design refresh in order to bring their site up to date and improve usability. They wanted to utilize plenty of white space with minimal use of images, making the content stand out as the primary focus to site visitors.

To enable Fuller, Frost & Associates to maintain their own website and update content as needed, the site utilizes our WSA content management solution. The WSA allows anyone with basic computer skills to update and maintain their site.

The Lydia Project – A Great Redesign Enhances the Mission

Posted under Design on November 16th, 2009 by Jeff Partl

The Lydia Project is a non-profit organization that provides free services anywhere in the world to women facing cancer. This support includes a handmade tote made by the loving hands of volunteers and filled with encouraging items as well as correspondence and encouragement every month for at least a year.

In 2006, we designed The Lydia Project website after they won the Powerserve Extreme Website Makeover Contest conducted on WAFJ, a local Christian radio station in Augusta. The new site and its content management system aided Lydia’s growth and expanded their reach around the world. However, after meeting with the organization’s leaders in the summer of 2009, we realized the website needed to do a better job of communicating their mission. From the homepage, Lydia wanted visitors to easily request services, get involved, watch their video, read their newsletter, make a donation, and view their faith sponsors. Powerserve accepted the challenge and delivered what we believe is a great redesign that enhances the mission of this worthwhile organization.

Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church Launches New Site

Posted under Design, Our Work on August 27th, 2009 by Dylan Bredengerd
The New TrinityontheHill.net

The New TrinityontheHill.net

The new Trinity on the Hill website is the culmination of a successful multi-phased website project. Powerserve’s first task was to empower the Trinity staff, giving them total control over their website content. Once that part of the project was completed, we would then develop an updated design along with a more intuitive navigation structure for the site.

Content Management Solutions have dramatically changed the way organizations maintain their websites. Rather than be tied to the traditional client/webmaster model in which you’d send your update requests to a web developer who might take days to turn them around, modern CMS’s are easy to use and allow you to update your site using any computer with an Internet connection. But don’t be intimidated by the thought of maintaining your own site. Many CMS’s, like Powerserve’s Web Site Accelerator, are designed with usability in mind. If you have clerical skills, you can maintain your own site!

Following the migration of Trinity’s content from a static HTML framework to Powerserve’s Web Site Accelerator, the next step was to develop a brilliant new design for the church. Using their new logo as the starting point for our creative process, one of Powerserve’s design leads was able to craft a new concept that really enhanced Trinity’s brand image online. Then we reorganized the content under a new navigation structure that was more visitor-centric. Church members are better served by being able to access the information they need, while new visitors find the site to be the first source to look for information about Trinity on the Hill.
