Powerserve Wins 9 Addy Awards

Posted under More About Us, Office News, Our Work on February 12th, 2010 by Patrick Rodgers

Congratulations to the entire Powerserve design department for winning 9 Addy Awards. This year is extra special because it marks the first time we won a Gold Addy award.

The ADDY Awards truly represent “the best of the best of the best” in advertising. Held annually by the American Advertising Federation of Augusta, the Augusta ADDY Awards is the first of a three-tiered national competition. Local winners compete against other winners within their regions in one of 14 district competitions. District winners move on to the National ADDY Awards competition.

Congratulations to the entire team! Here’s hoping we’ll better our winning record in 2011.

Company Fitness Challenge

Posted under Office News on July 8th, 2008 by Jeff Partl

PowerServe believes staying fit is a key component longer term health.  In an effort to encourage better fitness and some healthy competition, we created the PowerServe Fitness Challenge.  Employees can compete in a monthly walking/running contest.  Whoever travels the most miles in a given month will win the Fitness Challenge Trophy and bragging rights.

We will use the NIke Plus web site (www.nikeplus.com) to track our distance.  Everyone competing in the challenge will need to purchase a Nike Plus sensor and sportsband or Ipod.  The only other rule is that runs must be uploaded daily – no sandbagging!

Good luck!

PowerServe expands its base by acquiring 7th Street Media

Posted under Office News on March 24th, 2008 by Chris Harrison

For Immediate Release – On March 1, 2008, PowerServe, a web design and software development company based in Augusta, announced the acquisition of over one hundred 7th Street Media web clients from Morris Communications. Although the majority of the clients are local small businesses, they also include clients throughout the United States.

These clients can expect to benefit from PowerServe’s full range of services: timely support, award winning graphic design, and superior technology solutions, which include content management, e-commerce, real estate solutions, and custom web development.

Since restructuring and refocusing the company in 2003, PowerServe has grown in many ways. The company has over 350 satisfied customers being served by 15 experienced analysts, graphic designers and programmers.

“The deal makes sense for both companies and our clients. We were looking to grow the web design and hosting aspect of our business and Morris Communication had already decided to phase out 7th Street Media”, said Jeff Partl, PowerServe’s President. “The clients will now be working with a provider that has more resources to help them grow their business.”

Wordpress Themes

Posted under Labs on October 15th, 2007 by Chris Harrison

Recent Wordpress Theme Releases

A couple of our designers have recently released some themes for Wordpress, an open-source blogging platform.

  • Effercio Blue - A two-column theme for Wordpress. Support Wordpress tags, dynamic sidebar and widgets, and includes custom link and archive page styles. Future plans for this theme include adding additional color variations. (Demo)
  • fu Punk – A punk rock, bad attitude WordPress theme. The primary colors are red and gray with some white mixed in for good measure. The template uses a right sidebar to display your feed, categories, pages, and links. The layout incorporates numerous odd curves and shapes that give the template a weird yet organized feel. fu Punk screams defiance and has attitude to spare.
  • Grape Mint – A clean two column theme with a right sidebar. The primary colors used are Purple and Green. The sidebar displays the search bar, index of pages and has a separate area for post categories.
  • Gray Day – A two column theme with a right sidebar. The primary colors utilized are Gray and Blue. The top area is prepared for you to show off a few social sites and is prepared for you to use the WP Audioscrobbler plugin for last.fm stats.
  • Push Pin – A clean and classy WordPress Theme. It has a right sidebar with a top header bar. The green header bar contains your site’s name, your page links, plus an email link. The splash image area contains your website slogan. The primary colors are green and blue with green representing the links and blue representing the headers.

Work is underway on several additional themes as well. As they become available, we’ll announce them here on the site.
